She teachesFeature Writing courses at the School of Journalism and Communication, University of Oregon, and speaks frequently for writing-related organizations and conferences in the Pacific Northwest.
In her free time, Melissa likes to hike and run half-marathons, kayak and camp and cook and travel to quirky places.
