by Udo KittelmannIn "Soma," Belgian artist Carsten Holler (born 1961) traces the myth of the titular healing drink made by Vedic nomads in northern India during the second century BC. Drinking soma was thought to provide access to the divine. This publication collects writings on soma, from the early eighteenth century to the present, on which Holler drew for his most recent hallucinatory installation.
