by Gillian PolackA fascinating look at the organisation of the historically themed banquets at the Conflux conventions. It's wonderful to learn how much work went into them, both to get them right and to choose the right recipes to make the dishes delicious. Each banquet was researched and planned well ahead, with volunteers to cook and try out the various dishes before each final menu was handed to the hotel which would prepare it. The book also contains recipes. It's well worth having, even if you have never been to one of the Conflux banquets; I bought my copy a couple of years ago, since when I have been fortunate enough to attend a rerun of the Regency feast.
