Bonnie has been a widow for 10 yrs and Gary Shane's father seemed to be immortalised by Bonnie for protesting against the war. A journalist is writing a biography of Gary's life and in his findings he found that Gary had not died how Bonnie believes he died. 10yrs on she is told the truth n she is shattered that she believed a lie. The writer in writing this story is drawing a balance of what times were like for those who fought in the war by obeying government n those who protested against the political decisions.
