by K.G.M.M. AlbertiThe Diabetes Annuals serve as a guide to the interpretation of new data which have appeared in the literature. Each Annual concentrates on recent advances only, and so a particular topic is therefore not necessarily covered every year, depending on the progress and publications within a given area over a given year. Thus, the Diabetes Annuals provide up-to-date accounts of recent developments in diabetes to all those with an interest in the subject. Much new information has been published in the period since Volume 4 appeared, with progress on many fronts. Volume 5 again guides the reader through the most recent literature, with a lot of familiar topics and names reappearing. There is a special chapter given over to aldose reductase inhibitors, resulting from the interest generated in this area.
