§Bruegel and his brother Pieter were raised by their grandmother, Mayken Verhulst, after their father and mother died.
§Bruegel worked for Cardinal Federigo Borromeo when he was in Italy.
§In 1610, he became court painter to the archdukes of Habsburg, Austria.
§Bruegel collaborated with Peter Paul Rubens on his paintings. Bruegel would paint the landscape and animals while Rubens painted the people.
