by Alex BarkerUnfortunately, I never got a chance to try the recipes (though I still look at them and drool) because I ended up with so many vegans or people with egg allergies in my life and don't want to make something overly involved or so much food for just me. However, I refuse to part with this book: this book was so informative on eggs, from their production to the science of cooking them to the utensils often used in their preparation. Due to this book, I now own an egg piercer, egg scissors and egg dishes I finally learned how to properly boil eggs (not that all those products are necessary, as the book says, but awfully convenient). It has renewed my enjoyment of the simple breakfast of a poached egg on toast with black pepper. I may have never used the recipes in the back of the book, but I am well-versed in the basics of cooking eggs. Maybe one day I'll meet a man who wants eggs for breakfast (yes, bring me another egg lover into my life!) and will try something a little more complicated, but for now I can cook the perfect egg for my own enjoyment.
